Services (treatment of Psychosis)

2. Public Education

Public education is an essential component of early detection and intervention services and has been shown to be an effective way of reducing the duration of untreated psychosis (2).

Recognising the early signs of psychosis is the first step in accessing treatment and reducing delays in receiving treatment.

Effective treatments are available to treat psychosis and the majority of people recover from psychosis the sooner they get treatment.

DETECT aims to provide public education using a variety of media and bases educational campaigns on models used internationally that have proven effective.
